[Remote] Trade Management Analyst I - Remote

The Trade Management Analyst I role involves providing advisory services on international trade compliance and assisting clients with regulatory obligations while supporting process optimization and system solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide trade compliance guidance to clients engaged in international import and export activities
- Advise on customs classification, valuation, origin, and preferential trade programs
- Support client engagements by identifying compliance gaps and recommending practical improvements
- Act as a subject‑matter resource for resolving compliance‑related client issues in coordination with internal teams
- Support interactions with customs authorities while maintaining regulatory integrity
- Put together reports of like and similar goods to ensure compliance with CBSA verification audits
- Charging customers for the work performed and completion of billing for projects
- Demonstrate working knowledge of the CBSA CARM Client Portal and its use by importers and brokers
- Upload documents for our customers to the CARM Client Portal
- Apply regulatory requirements to client operations and brokerage workflows
- Assist with preparation of submissions to the post‑entry team, responses to CBSA requests, and supporting documentation packages
- Monitor regulatory changes and support updates to procedures and controls as required
- Support preparation for CBSA audits and verifications, including documentation review and data validation
- Assist in analyzing audit findings and identifying corrective actions
- Support maintenance of audit trails and supporting documentation aligned with CBSA expectations
- Apply brokerage operations knowledge to support automation and system‑driven process improvements
- Analyze current compliance workflows to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains
- Collaborate with technology, operations, and compliance teams to ensure regulatory requirements are embedded into system functionality
- Use data and reporting to support root‑cause analysis and exception reduction
- Support development and delivery of clients and internal training related to trade compliance
- Prepare documentation, job aids, and procedural guidance for regulatory and system changes
- Assist clients and internal users with adoption of new processes, tools, and compliance requirements
Skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred (international trade, supply chain, logistics, business, or related field)
- CCS designation
- Practical experience in customs brokerage or trade compliance operations
- Working knowledge of CBSA CARM Client Portal navigation and document handling
- Familiarity with customs audits, verifications, and regulatory correspondence
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Bilingualism required: French and English (written and spoken). Strong verbal and written communication skills in French are essential. The role involves regular interactions with clients outside of Quebec (70%)
- Ability to translate regulatory and system requirements into clear client guidance
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for client‑facing environments
- High attention to detail with strong compliance awareness
- Ability to operate as an independent contributor in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including: Excel (data analysis, reconciliation, reporting, tracking), Word (procedural documentation, client correspondence), PowerPoint (client presentations, training materials, reporting), Outlook (client and stakeholder communication), Teams / SharePoint (collaboration, document management, version control)
- Ability to analyze data, track exceptions, and support reporting using spreadsheets and business dashboards
- Comfortable working across multiple systems and platforms in a regulated environment
- Exposure to brokerage automation or systems‑based process improvements is an asset
