Transportation (Roadway Design) Engineer
ATCS Inc. is a company focused on building Virginia's transportation infrastructure, and they are seeking an Entry-Level Transportation Engineer to join their Raleigh, NC office. This hybrid role offers the chance to work on impactful transportation projects while developing technical and professional skills alongside experienced engineers.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning and design of roadway and transportation infrastructure projects
- Develop roadway geometry, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Support drainage, utility, and transportation design efforts
- Prepare technical reports and project documentation
- Participate in field visits and construction observations
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and public agencies
- Attend client and public meetings and gain exposure to project delivery processes
Skills
- Bachelor's degree (or upcoming graduation) in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 0–2+ years of transportation engineering experience, including internships or co-ops
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or similar design software is a plus
