The Opportunity: Customer Service Representative - Healthcare & Benefits Specialist

arenaflex is seeking an experienced and compassionate Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic Review Team. This fully remote position offers the chance to work with healthcare beneficiaries and providers across the country, helping navigate complex appeals processes while delivering exceptional service. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive customer service support for the Review Team, including all interactions with beneficiaries and providers via our helpline
  • Create, format, proofread, and distribute correspondence with meticulous attention to detail and timeliness
  • Make informed decisions regarding complex appeals, applying your knowledge of healthcare regulations and policies
  • Answer the Beneficiary Helpline efficiently, utilizing our hunt group and available light functions
  • Determine the most appropriate assistance for each caller, whether through arenaflex services or external referrals
  • Properly document all interactions and referrals in the CMS system
  • Ensure all correspondence is sent in a timely manner with correct components and without grammatical or spacing errors
  • Obtain and validate notices and all components of medical records
  • Handle intake for all appeals received by arenaflex
  • Apply customer service guidelines and standards consistently in all interactions
  • Utilize internal quality control tools to assess individual work and team processes
  • Foster effective working relationships between arenaflex's internal and external customers
  • Assist in identifying areas for process improvement based on case reviews and team feedback
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all healthcare regulations and privacy requirements

Qualifications & Skills

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two to three years of clerical experience, including word processing, various filing systems, and telephone customer service
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with a courteous and patient demeanor
  • Strong customer orientation with the ability to maintain composure under potentially stressful situations
  • Exceptional grammar, punctuation, spelling, and written communication skills
  • Customer-focused, results-oriented approach with the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Flexibility to work as part of a team and support team decisions
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments effectively
  • General knowledge of PC-based computer systems and various software packages
  • Willingness to learn additional software packages as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-high school business courses
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Previous data entry experience
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and appeals processes
