Position Overview – Senior Director, Global Head of Adversarial Abuse & Analytics

This is a full‑time, remote‑first role that offers a competitive hourly rate of $24, with a flexible 8‑hour workday and the opportunity to lead a high‑impact, globally distributed team. You will be responsible for shaping the strategy, operations, and analytics that detect, mitigate, and prevent malicious activity across arenaflex’s platform. The role blends data‑entry expertise, advanced analytics, and cross‑functional leadership to protect millions of users from account takeovers, spam, harassment, and emerging AI‑driven threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the global roadmap for adversarial abuse detection and response, aligning with arenaflex’s Trust & Safety objectives.
  • Team Management: Lead a multidisciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, product managers, and policy experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Risk Identification & Mitigation: Oversee the identification of emerging abuse patterns, including account hijacking, coordinated spam campaigns, and AI‑generated malicious content.
  • Data‑Driven Insights: Direct the collection, cleaning, and analysis of massive data sets to surface actionable intelligence and inform product enhancements.
  • Cross‑Functional Partnerships: Work closely with Product, Engineering, Policy, and Global Operations teams to design and launch tools that detect and block abusive behavior in real time.
  • Reporting & Transparency: Produce clear, concise reports for internal stakeholders and external regulators, ensuring compliance with global privacy and safety standards.
  • Incident Response: Lead rapid response initiatives for high‑severity abuse incidents, coordinating with legal, communications, and security teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion a data‑first mindset, implementing A/B testing, performance metrics, and iterative learning loops to refine detection models.
  • Talent Development: Mentor senior analysts and emerging leaders, building a pipeline of expertise in abuse analytics and risk management.
  • On‑Call Rotation: Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule, providing coverage for critical incidents on weekends and holidays as needed.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading risk‑mitigation initiatives, preferably in large‑scale online platforms or social media environments.
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing data pipelines, statistical models, or machine‑learning systems that detect abusive behavior.
  • Proficiency with SQL and at least one analytical programming language (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB).
  • Strong analytical acumen with the ability to translate complex data sets into strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, capable of influencing senior leadership and cross‑functional partners.
  • Track record of delivering results in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments while maintaining high standards of data integrity and privacy.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Machine Learning, or Computational Social Science.
  • Experience analyzing large‑scale datasets for anomaly detection, fraud, or policy compliance.
  • Background in adversarial research, cybersecurity, or content moderation.
  • Familiarity with cloud‑based data platforms (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake) and modern data‑engineering tools.
  • Leadership experience managing distributed, remote teams across multiple time zones.
  • Passion for internet safety, digital rights, and the ethical implications of AI‑driven content moderation.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Strategic Vision: Ability to anticipate future abuse trends and proactively design countermeasures.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong statistical reasoning, hypothesis testing, and data visualization capabilities.
  • Collaboration: Proven skill in building strong relationships with product, engineering, policy, and legal teams.
