This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional who is passionate about hardware engineering, supply chain optimization, and driving manufacturing excellence at scale. If you thrive in fast-paced environments where your technical expertise directly shapes the future of computing infrastructure, arenaflex wants to hear from you.

Position Overview

As a Senior Manufacturing Operations & Product Engineering Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between product design and large-scale manufacturing execution. You will evaluate complex product designs, develop robust manufacturing processes, and create the tooling, methodologies, and procedures that enable our partners to produce world-class hardware consistently and efficiently.

Working closely with Product Managers, Design Engineers, Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), and component suppliers, you will ensure that every element of our infrastructure fits together seamlessly. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability, performance, and scalability of the systems that millions of users rely upon every day. This role requires a unique blend of technical depth, strategic thinking, and hands-on engagement with manufacturing partners across the globe.

This position is based in Sunnyvale, USA, with a hybrid work arrangement that includes significant on-site collaboration with suppliers and remote support for pre-production build activities. We anticipate approximately five days per week of on-site work at our Guadalajara, MX partner facilities during critical project phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design for Excellence Leadership: Lead comprehensive reviews across Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams to drive critical deliverables that execute Design for Excellence (DFX) initiatives and establish robust test strategies for new and existing products.
  • Manufacturing Readiness & Ramp Support: Ensure complete factory readiness for new product introductions, provide hands-on support for manufacturing line ramp activities, deliver thorough product investigation training, and consolidate feedback on build issues. Manage the bone pile effectively and drive comprehensive yield gap analysis to continuously improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Risk Mitigation & Product Team Collaboration: Work in close partnership with the Product team to identify potential risks early in the development cycle, develop comprehensive mitigation plans, and ensure proactive communication across all stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Quality Engineering Partnership: Collaborate with Quality Engineers to establish precise product quality and reliability targets. Validate comprehensive product qualification plans, support rigorous reliability testing protocols, and meticulously review results to ensure product performance consistently meets or exceeds all established requirements.
  • Bill of Materials Management: Coordinate the seamless release of New Product Introduction (NPI) Bills of Materials (BOMs) into the Product Data Management (PDM) system. Support second-source component qualification activities and manage the release of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs) with precision and accountability.
  • Supplier Engagement & Travel: Travel regularly to work directly on-site with suppliers and contract manufacturers, providing expert guidance during pre-production builds and ensuring manufacturing processes remain controlled, repeatable, and aligned with arenaflex quality standards.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as a critical liaison between design teams, manufacturing partners, quality assurance, and supply chain management, ensuring seamless communication and alignment across all functions involved in product realization.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation: Continuously identify opportunities to enhance manufacturing processes, reduce costs, improve yields, and accelerate time-to-market for new products and iterations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a closely related technical field, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating comparable expertise.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in an organization developing supply chains specifically focused on manufacturing and testing operations for complex hardware systems.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), and component suppliers, particularly for data center-class server type products.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, manufacturing workflows, and the unique challenges associated with producing high-quality hardware at scale.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an organization developing supply chains for manufacturing and testing of advanced hardware products, with a focus on data center infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with ODMs, CMs, and component suppliers specifically for data center-class server accelerator products such as GPUs, FPGAs, or ASICs.
  • Proven track record of creating and executing comprehensive design validation test plans for complex electronic assemblies, with the ability to anticipate and address potential failure modes.
  • Deep understanding of ASIC Design for Test (DFT) methodologies, Automated Test Equipment (ATE) test processes, and post-silicon validation procedures.
  • Proficiency in SQL queries and scripting languages such as Python or Bash, with the ability to develop automated tools and data analysis pipelines.
  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems and Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed yield analysis, root cause investigations, and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners effectively.
  • Bilingual capabilities (English and Spanish) are highly desirable given the significant on-site collaboration required at our Guadalajara, MX facilities.
