As an independent contractor with arenaflex, you will play a crucial role in our customer support program, assisting callers with their bookkeeping and accounting software questions. Position Overview

We are currently seeking experienced professionals to join our team as Remote Bookkeeping Software Customer Support Specialists. In this role, you will provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to customers who use popular accounting software platforms, primarily QuickBooks Online and comparable applications. You will be the voice of arenaflex, delivering knowledgeable, patient, and professional support to businesses and individuals seeking guidance with their financial management tools.

This is a fully remote, independent contractor position that allows you to set your own schedule within our available hours. You will provide customer support via phone, helping callers with a wide range of questions related to accounting software processes, ledger entries, navigation, reconciliation, and general troubleshooting. Your expertise in bookkeeping and accounting practices, combined with yourStrong communication skills, will be instrumental in resolving customer issues and ensuring a positive experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Expert Software Guidance: Assist customers with questions related to accounting software processes, including but not limited to setting up accounts, creating and managing charts of accounts, processing transactions, and navigating software features.
  • Troubleshoot Technical Issues: Diagnose and resolve customer issues related to software functionality, including error messages, syncing problems, data import/export challenges, and integration issues with third-party applications.
  • Ledger Entry Support: Guide customers through proper ledger entry procedures, including journal entries, accounts payable and receivable management, expense tracking, and reconciliation processes.
  • Account Management Assistance: Help customers with bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and ensuring their financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Software Navigation Training: Provide step-by-step guidance on using various features within QuickBooks Online and comparable accounting software platforms.
  • Customer Issue Ownership: Take full ownership of customer issues from initial contact through resolution, ensuring each caller receives personalized attention and confident, effective solutions.
  • Documentation and Follow-up: Accurately document customer interactions, issues reported, and resolutions provided to ensure continuity of support and quality assurance.
  • Productivity Management: Maintain efficiency during calls, managing time effectively while ensuring comprehensive support is provided to each customer.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with software updates, new features, and industry best practices to provide the most accurate and up-to-date guidance.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bookkeeping/Accounting Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting practices, including accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required. Familiarity with comparable accounting software platforms such as Xero, FreshBooks, Wave, or QuickBooks Desktop is highly preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience: Proven track record of delivering high-quality customer service over the phone in a virtual or traditional call center environment.
  • Technical Aptitude: Tech-savvy with strong computer skills, comfortable navigating software applications, and able to quickly learn new systems and processes.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong ownership of customer issues with the ability to take control of situations and provide confident, effective resolutions.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive Earnings: Earn up to $20.40 per hour for your expertise and dedication.
  • Minimum Payment Guarantee: Contractors are guaranteed a minimum of 45 minutes of pay for each hour if available for the full 60 minutes, ensuring fair compensation for your time.

Schedule and Availability

Technology and Work Environment Requirements

To ensure a productive and professional support environment, contractors must meet the following requirements:

  • Quiet Workspace: Maintain a quiet, uninterrupted space dedicated to your work activities.
  • Organized Desk Area: Keep your workspace organized and free from distractions to maintain focus during customer interactions.
  • Personal Computer: Use a personal computer (tablet devices are not permitted) with Windows 10 or Windows 11 operating system.
  • Internet Connection: Maintain a wired broadband internet connection with at least 10 Mbps download speed. Wi-Fi or mobile internet connections are not permitted.
  • Security Requirements: Have valid, up-to-date antivirus software installed and running on your computer.
  • Headset: Use a wired USB headset with microphone for clear, professional communication.
  • No VPN: VPN connections are not permitted during working hours. Computers may not connect to internet services through private VPN networks.

Important Information

Location Requirement: Contractors must live and work from the United States. Currently, we are unable to accept contractors residing in California, New York, Pennsylvania, or Washington. This position is open to residents of all other U.S. states.

Background Check: All contractors must successfully pass a criminal background check as part of our screening process.

Contractual Relationship: The relationship between you and arenaflex is a contractual relationship. You will remain an independent contractor for the duration of this program assignment. arenaflex will not be responsible for withholding taxes on your earnings. As an independent contractor, you will not be entitled to vacation pay, sick leave, retirement benefits, Social Security, workers' compensation, health or disability benefits, overtime, unemployment insurance benefits, or employee benefits of any kind. When you receive your contract, you will be asked to acknowledge and agree to these terms.
