About arenaflex – Pioneering the Future of Sustainable Mobility

At arenaflex, we are on a mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable transportation and clean energy. Our cutting‑edge electric vehicles, high‑performance charging infrastructure, and intelligent energy‑grid solutions are redefining how people move and how power is delivered. With a global footprint that spans research labs, manufacturing plants, and a rapidly expanding fleet of connected vehicles, arenaflex is more than a company—it’s a movement powered by data, innovation, and a relentless focus on safety and efficiency.

Data is the lifeblood of every product and engineering decision at arenaflex. From the moment a vehicle leaves the factory floor to the instant a driver plugs into a Supercharger, terabytes of telemetry, sensor readings, and operational metrics flow into our analytics ecosystem. This wealth of information fuels advancements in autonomous driving, hardware design, fault detection, and grid optimization. As a Remote Data Entry Engineer on our Fleet Analytics team, you will be at the heart of this data‑driven transformation, turning raw streams into actionable insights that shape the next generation of sustainable mobility.

Role Overview – Why This Position Matters

The Fleet Analytics group at arenaflex serves as a strategic hub that empowers engineers across the organization to harness the power of data. By building robust data pipelines, developing reusable analytics tools, and delivering self‑serve platforms, we enable rapid experimentation, informed decision‑making, and continuous improvement across vehicle, charger, and energy‑product lines. This role is a unique blend of software engineering, data science, and product collaboration, offering you the chance to influence both the technical architecture and the business outcomes of a world‑leading clean‑tech company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, process, and store petabytes of fleet telemetry using modern open‑source technologies such as Apache Spark, Trino, and AWS S3.
  • Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders—including vehicle engineers, firmware teams, and energy‑grid specialists—to translate business requirements into robust data solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and best‑practice guidance for arenaflex’s data engineering and analytics platform, championing clean code, reproducibility, and performance optimization.
  • Write and execute reproducible data analyses on massive datasets, leveraging Python, SQL, Pandas, and Jupyter notebooks to uncover patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for product improvement.
  • Develop self‑serve analytics tools (e.g., dashboards, notebooks, and APIs) that enable engineers to explore data independently, reducing time‑to‑insight and fostering a data‑centric culture.
  • Construct and maintain visualizations using Bokeh, Superset, or similar frameworks to clearly communicate findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable deployment, monitoring, and scaling of data services on Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux environments.
  • Document data models, pipeline architectures, and analytical methodologies to support knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation and incident response, troubleshooting data platform issues to maintain high availability and data integrity.
  • Occasionally embed with mechanical, electrical, or firmware engineering teams to help define product requirements, refine control algorithms, and validate performance against real‑world data.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience, preferably in data‑intensive environments.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with a track record of building production‑grade codebases.
  • Hands‑on experience with data processing engines such as Apache Spark or equivalent distributed computing frameworks.
  • Strong familiarity with data analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, SciPy) and statistical concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines that handle large‑scale, high‑velocity data streams.
  • Experience creating data visualizations and dashboards that translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Problem‑solving mindset, capable of breaking down ambiguous challenges into concrete, data‑driven solutions.
  • Self‑motivated, humble, and collaborative—thriving in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.

Preferred (Nice‑to‑Have) Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Scala or other JVM languages.
  • Deep understanding of distributed storage and compute concepts such as HDFS, Spark, and Presto/Trino.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible).
  • Background in working with complex hardware systems or embedded firmware data.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps best practices.
  • Exposure to machine learning pipelines, model training, and model‑serving infrastructure.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Data Engineering Mastery: Ability to architect and optimize data flows from ingestion to analytics.
  • Software Craftsmanship: Write clean, testable, and maintainable code that can be handed off to other engineers.
  • Statistical Insight: Apply statistical reasoning to validate hypotheses and drive product decisions.
  • Visualization Acumen: Build compelling visual narratives that make data accessible to all stakeholders.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Work effectively across multidisciplinary teams, influencing technical direction without direct authority.
  • Adaptability: Quickly learn new tools, languages, and frameworks as the technology stack evolves.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its employees. As a Remote Data Entry Engineer, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior data scientists and architects who have built industry‑leading analytics platforms.

  • Opportunities to present at internal tech talks, conferences, and industry meet‑ups, positioning you as a thought leader in data engineering.
  • Clear promotion pathways—from individual contributor roles to senior staff engineer, principal engineer, and technical leadership positions.
  • Cross‑functional project rotations that allow you to deepen expertise in vehicle dynamics, energy‑grid optimization, or autonomous systems.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits

arenaflex offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $23 to $40 based on experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base compensation, you will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Life, AD&D, short‑term and long‑term disability insurance at no cost to the employee.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental health and personal support.
  • Family‑building benefits, including fertility, adoption, and surrogacy assistance.
  • Wellness programs such as weight‑loss, tobacco‑cessation, and on‑site or virtual fitness classes.
  • Commuter benefits, backup childcare resources, and pet insurance options.
  • Exclusive arenaflex employee discounts on products, services, and partner offerings.
