Role Overview

The Director of Data Science – Global Data Strategy will lead a high‑performing team within the Risk Finance group, driving the design, development, and maintenance of centralized reporting, advanced analytics, and automation solutions. This role is responsible for shaping the data‑driven decision‑making framework that underpins credit loss provisioning, credit risk assessment, and reserve forecasting across the enterprise. Reporting to senior leadership, you will partner with Risk, Finance, Controllership, Technology, and business partners to deliver innovative, scalable data products that empower senior executives to make informed, risk‑aware decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic analysis of arenaflex credit metrics, credit loss provisioning, and reserve requirements, delivering clear, data‑backed recommendations to senior management.
• Own the integrity, reliability, and accessibility of critical data assets within Risk Finance, acting as the subject‑matter expert for tools such as SQL/Hive, Power BI/Tableau, Python/R, VBA, and TM1.
• Design, develop, and maintain both standard and ad‑hoc reports and dashboards that serve internal Risk Finance stakeholders and external business partners.
• Provide actionable analytics and decision‑support insights that identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities within the credit portfolio, enabling optimized business and risk outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams—including Risk, Controllership, Technology, and Business Operations—to ensure alignment of data strategy with broader corporate objectives.
• Mentor and coach junior data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of curiosity, rigor, and continuous improvement.
• Drive automation initiatives that reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and accelerate the delivery of insights.

Essential Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 8‑10 years of progressive experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative risk modeling, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
• Advanced proficiency with SQL/Hive, Power BI or Tableau, Python or R, VBA, and TM1 (or comparable planning tools).
• Demonstrated expertise in building large‑scale data pipelines, data warehouses, and automated reporting solutions.
• Strong financial acumen, particularly in credit risk, loss provisioning, and reserve analysis.
• Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a track record of turning complex data sets into strategic recommendations.
