About arenaflex

arenaflex is a pioneering force in the artificial intelligence and machine learning landscape, dedicated to building safe, trustworthy, and universally beneficial AI technologies. With a mission to ensure that advanced AI serves the greater good, arenaflex combines cutting‑edge research with real‑world product development to create tools that empower individuals, businesses, and societies worldwide. Our culture thrives on curiosity, collaboration, and a relentless drive to push the boundaries of what AI can achieve while upholding the highest standards of ethics and responsibility.

Why This Role Matters

As a senior member of the Information Researcher team within the Applied Item group, you will be at the heart of arenaflex’s data‑driven product development engine. You will shape the measurement framework that guides product decisions across the entire organization, from consumer‑facing applications to internal research platforms. Your work will directly influence the roadmap of our most ambitious AI products, ensuring that every feature, model update, and user experience is grounded in rigorous quantitative analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Teams: Serve as a trusted advisor to product managers, designers, and engineering leads, identifying opportunities to improve product performance through data‑centric strategies.
  • Design and Execute Experiments: Lead the conception, implementation, and analysis of A/B tests that evaluate the impact of model changes, UI tweaks, and new features on key business metrics.
  • Define North‑Star Metrics: Establish, track, and operationalize product‑level, component‑level, and organization‑wide metrics that align with arenaflex’s strategic objectives.
  • Build Self‑Serve Analytics: Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytical tools that enable cross‑functional teams to answer product questions independently.
  • Develop Measurement Culture: Advocate for a data‑driven mindset, mentoring teammates on best practices for measurement, experimentation, and statistical rigor.
  • Collaborate Across Domains: Work closely with research scientists, data engineers, and UX researchers to integrate quantitative and qualitative insights into a cohesive product narrative.
  • Communicate Insights Effectively: Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership and stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a quantitative role tackling ambiguous problems, preferably as a data scientist or product analyst at a fast‑growing tech company or research organization.
  • Proven track record of designing, running, and interpreting rigorous experiments using SQL and Python, with a deep understanding of statistical concepts such as hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and power analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to define, implement, and operationalize new product and component metrics without extensive guidance.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with experience presenting findings to product leaders, engineers, and executives.
  • Strong analytical mindset, capable of navigating large, complex datasets to uncover actionable insights.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Hands‑on experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP), large language models, or generative AI technologies.
  • Solid programming foundation beyond analysis—ability to prototype simulations, run model variations, and contribute to codebases.
  • Experience blending quantitative data with qualitative methods (e.g., user research, surveys, interviews) to form a holistic view of product impact.
  • Familiarity with modern data stack tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI, and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Background in a high‑growth environment where rapid iteration and scalability are paramount.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Statistical Analysis: Mastery of experimental design, causal inference, and multivariate analysis.
  • Data Engineering Basics: Ability to write efficient SQL queries, understand data pipelines, and collaborate with engineers on data quality.
  • Programming Proficiency: Advanced Python skills, including libraries such as pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and statsmodels.
  • Product Sense: Keen intuition for how data translates into product decisions and user experiences.
  • Storytelling: Craft compelling narratives that make complex data accessible to non‑technical audiences.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across multidisciplinary teams.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its employees. In this role, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior leaders in AI research, product strategy, and data science.
  • Opportunities to attend industry conferences, workshops, and internal “hack weeks” focused on emerging AI technologies.
  • Sponsored certifications in advanced analytics, cloud platforms, and machine learning.
  • A clear career ladder that can lead to senior data science leadership, product analytics management, or specialized research roles.
  • Cross‑functional project rotations that broaden your expertise across product, research, and engineering domains.
