A rapidly growing, mid-sized engineering consulting firm focused on energy and infrastructure is looking to add a Senior-level engineer to its expanding grid interconnection and power systems group.This role offers exposure to large-scale renewable projects and grid infrastructure initiatives, supporting the integration of new generation resources into the transmission network.The OpportunityYou'll play a key role in delivering technical studies that support grid interconnection efforts, partnering cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders. The position blends hands-on analytical work with client interaction, making it a strong fit for someone who enjoys both technical depth and collaboration.Core ResponsibilitiesExecute and oversee power system and interconnection studies tied to generation and high-voltage infrastructure projectsPerform a range of simulations and analyses, such as:Steady-state and contingency power flowFault current and protection-related studiesDynamic and stability assessmentsTransient behavior evaluationsPerformance validation of inverter-based resourcesDevelop and refine electrical models for renewable plants and grid-connected systemsSupport model calibration, verification, and compliance alignment with regional grid operators and utilitiesContribute to projects spanning renewables, transmission systems, substations, and broader grid modernization effortsProduce technical documentation including study reports, methodologies, and engineering packagesInterface with clients through technical discussions, project updates, and occasional site engagementAssist in proposal development and scoping for new workEnsure deliverables meet applicable standards, operating requirements, and regulatory expectationsTrack updates in grid codes, interconnection requirements, and evolving industry practicesHelp identify opportunities to improve internal tools, modeling approaches, and study efficiencyQualificationsDegree in Electrical Engineering (or similar technical discipline)Proven experience working on power systems studies, particularly related to interconnectionFamiliarity with at least one industry-standard modeling platform (e.g., PSSE, PSCAD, PowerWorld, etc.)Background in renewable integration, dynamic simulation, or transmission-level analysisWorking knowledge of grid operations and interconnection frameworksExposure to organized power markets or system operators is beneficialUnderstanding of key industry standards (NERC, IEEE, etc.) is helpfulPE licensure preferred but not required Apply To This Job
