Supplier Engineered Equipment Design Engineer

Rolls-Royce is a leading company known for its innovation in power systems. The Supplier Engineered Equipment Design Engineer will develop control system hardware requirements and guide suppliers through the design process to ensure compliance with technical and program requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of Controls Hardware components, including oversight of the mechanical design and analysis of components, taking the design through multiple gated design reviews, and oversight of the validation testing performed by contracted suppliers of the Controls Units
  • Drive coordination of effort between the design, purchasing, manufacturing engineering teams with our Controls Hardware suppliers to ensure that program needs are met through the execution of the work package to plan
  • Ensure project risks (technical, cost, supply chain and schedule) are identified and managed in accordance with the risk management plan
  • Engage in technical, manufacturing and supply chain issues and opportunities to enable quick decision making

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 1+ years of experience in mechanical design or control systems, OR
  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, OR
  • JD/PhD
  • To be considered for this role, you must be a US Citizen
  • Desire to successfully lead in a team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with coworkers
  • Experience with control systems hardware design
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), change management, and risk management processes
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving techniques
  • Knowledge of RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standards
  • Current (or ability to obtain/maintain) US DOD Secret or Top-Secret security Clearance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
