Our client, a cutting-edge chemical manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Process Chemist to spearhead process development and optimization initiatives. This is a fully remote role, requiring a high degree of self-direction and technical expertise to design, scale, and troubleshoot chemical processes. You will be instrumental in enhancing efficiency, safety, and product quality within our manufacturing operations. Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and optimization of chemical synthesis routes and manufacturing processes. Conduct laboratory-scale experiments to evaluate new chemistries, catalysts, and reaction conditions. Develop scalable and cost-effective manufacturing processes, ensuring safety and environmental compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues encountered during pilot-scale and full-scale production. Collaborate closely with engineering, R&D, and production teams to ensure seamless technology transfer and implementation. Develop and implement robust analytical methods for process monitoring and quality control. Author detailed technical reports, process documentation, and batch records. Stay current with advancements in chemical engineering, process chemistry, and relevant regulatory standards. Mentor and guide junior chemists and technicians on process development projects. Manage project timelines and resources effectively to meet deliverables. Qualifications: Ph.D. or Master's degree in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field. A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process chemistry, with a strong focus on synthesis and scale-up. Proven expertise in developing and optimizing complex chemical processes for industrial applications. In-depth understanding of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and separation technologies. Experience with process safety management (PSM) principles and hazard analysis. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and experimental design skills. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines. Proficiency in chemical process simulation software and analytical instrumentation. Demonstrated ability to manage projects and lead technical teams. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the US.
